Jonathan England, B.Ed, M.Ed.

Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA)

Director of Solution-focused School Support.

Eight years working within Inner London Local Authority (LA) processes including 5 years as Head of the LA’s Autism Support Team (AST) as part of the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) department provides me with unique insight into the challenges faced by parents in getting the support that their children require to be happy and successful students.

That experience and knowledge gained working as a Senior Manager in an LA are invaluable in helping your family realise your hopes and expectations of proper support for your child. This in no small part includes the offer to educate and support teachers and school staff in best meeting the needs of our students with Autism or Special Educational Needs (SEN) as they struggle with their own professional demands.

My extensive knowledge of relevant legislation (the ‘system') and the understanding of how LA internal processes can support families in meeting the needs of their children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or SEN are combined with professional qualifications as both a Specialist Teacher (30 years) and Behaviour Analyst. In addition, my LA experience also makes me uniquely qualified to recognise reasonable due process versus reluctance, impediments and outright barriers to your child receiving the provision that they need and deserve.

Of course, any support plan or intervention needs to be sensitive to, and embrace the investment of all who are involved - at all levels. Solution-focused School Support - as the name suggests - seeks to bring together everyone who has a vested interest in the child to improve those socially significant behaviours and to use a scientific approach to accomplishing this in providing solutions that work - for all.
